Two weeks ago Pine Banks Park was the location for the first ever Hope for CJD 5K Walk. On the foundation’s website, CJD or Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, is described a, “…rare, rapidly progressive neurodegenerative.” “With no treatment or cure,” this disease is, always fatal.” The CJD Foundation, a non‐profit 501(c)(3) organization, however is working to fundraise and promote the search for a cure. The walk that was held at Pine Banks Park occurred not only in honor of Amale Daher who recently passed from the disease, but to raise money for support and research programs.
